Changing your lifestyle can seem daunting...I mean where do you even begin? There are so many programs and weight-loss ideologies, a girl could easily get confused. There's so much information out there that can be misleading!
I have a friend who was killing herself in a cross fit gym five days a week, choking down nothing but tilapia and asparagus for each meal, and her results were minor at best. She was tired, stressed, and unhappy in her search for a healthier lifestyle. No wonder she gave it up! I would too!!
I've been fortunate enough to get to know nutritionist, and New York Times best selling author Lyn-Genet Recitas, who has revolutionized a new way of thinking. She has imparted some of her wisdom on me and I am here to share it with all of you!
So, here are 5 basic truths that will put you on the right path to health, weight loss and that girlish glow!
1. Get proper sleep
Hearing that should be music to your ears! Sleeping helps you lose weight (that's probably why teenagers are so skinny amirite!?) But seriously, for every 2 hours of sleep you lose, you gain half a pound.
Your whole body is out of whack when you don't get enough rest, so make sure you get your sleep!
2. Drink enough water
How many times have you heard that? *Eye Roll* But seriously, you can't lose weight without taking that to heart!
You should be drinking about half of your body weight in ounces, so make sure to take your hydro flask with you wherever you go!
3. Manage stress
Taking just a few minutes to decompress and S-L-O-W down could be the difference between stagnant wight loss and stellar weight loss.
To alleviate stress, try taking a few minutes each day to meditate. Or, if meditation isn't your thing, try a warm mug of herbal tea!
4. Eat the right foods that work for your chemistry!!
Not every food will work for every body. I'm sure you've eaten something and not felt well after. Those farts and belches are your bodies way trying to tell you "Bye, Felicia."

5. Stop exercising so darn much.
You don't have to tell me twice!! Haha, but seriously, exercising too often or at the wrong times can actually work against you when trying to lose weight.
Exercising too intensely can affect your hormones like cortisol and estrogen, and affects your thyroid gland, which is the most important gland of your metabolism. Find out more:
